Phenothiazine antiemetics are a class of medication often used to relieve nausea and vomiting by inhibiting dopamine, muscarinic and histamine receptors. They are usually prescribed to patients with serious nausea and vomiting, for example those who are suffering severe symptoms following chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Commonly prescribed phenothiazine antiemetics include Phenergan (promathezine), Compro (prochloperazine), Promethegan (promethazine) and Thorazine (chlorpromazine).
